When
sewers collapse or need repairs the flows must be
bypassed leaving the damaged pipework clear to be
replaced or relined. We have done many such jobs in
and around Melbourne for many years. Of particular
importance to our clients is that the equipment is
absolutely reliable and that there is no spillage
whatsoever. We have a large amount of equipment to
do such jobs and we have purpose built silenced
containerised pumpsets for this specialised work. We
have a diesel system that will pump flows to 160
litres per second and electric pumps to pump up to
440 litres per second. |
|
The diesel
pumpset has 2 diesel motors controlled by level sensors which turn the
pumps on and off and control the speed to maintain a constant
level in the sewer. This is important to minimise the possibility of a
surcharge in the pipes, which could result in further damage. The
pumpset is also equipped with SMS messaging to alert operators and
supervisors to any engine failures or high sewer levels. The pumps can
be remotely stopped and started by SMS messaging. Flow rates are
recorded using Magnetic flowmeters. |
 |
 |
Sound
levels are less than 75dB(A) at 1 metre and so this equipment can be
used in suburban areas with minimum disruption to residents. Having all
the equipment within a container allows for rapid deployment and good
security.
For larger flows we have a containerised
pumpset with 2 large 250mm NB self priming pumps driven electrically. |
|
These
generally will be used as duty pump and back up pump. Control is
via dual variable speed drives housed in a separate container complete
with computer controlled start/stop and speed variation to maintain
accurate levels. This system also includes SMS alerting and remote start
and stop.

For
situations where a rapid response is required we have silenced vacuum
assist pumps, both trailer and skid mounted. These pumps can be deployed
very quickly in an emergency. |
