River bypass pumping for Sugarloaf pipeline
The Sugarloaf pipeline connects the Goulburn river to Sugarloaf reservoir. It has 17 river crossings and we were commissioned to do bypass pumping on the crossing at Yea.

Hydrofracturing Pumpset for block caving mining
Our client was looking for a more efficient method of mining and we were commissioned to build a triplex positive displacement high pressure pump to create fractures in the ore body instead of the more traditional blasting technique.

Pumping from Pykes Creek Reservoir

Due to the water shortages in Victoria the level of the reservoir has fallen below the outlet level and to continue to get water from the reservoir pumps had to be installed.

Emergency firefighting pumpset for Latrobe Valley power station

Our customer required a second standby fire fighting pumpset. We were commissioned to supply and install a TKL 200x300-630 pump powered by a Detroit 16V71 diesel engine.

Sewer bypass in Ormond

We had to bypass the flow in a sewer system while damaged pipes were being laid. Electric pumpsets powered by silenced generators did the pumping and the whole installation was manned 24 hours a day.

Trailer mounted pumpset for mine dewatering

Link pumps manufacted a trailer mounted pumpset with a Southern Cross pump and Daewoo diesel engine for use in a mine in Queensland. It had to be very heavy duty to withstand the heavy usage recieved in a mining situation.

Power Station Tailrace tunnel dewatering

Tumut Power station tailrace needed to be drained so that access could be gained to do a tunnel inspection. The water had to be pumped out of the 1.3 km tunnel in just 2 days. Pumping was done 24 hours a day and speed and safety were the critical factors.

Sewer by-pass at Travancore Park Melbourne

A major sewer running under the new Commonwealth Games site needed relining. The sewer was bypassed in Travancore Park. We used 2 submersible pumps and 2 self priming pumps as back up. Our brief was for maximum reliability and no down time.

Cooling water recirculation pumpsets

We regularly build a line of chilled water recirculation pumps used in the servicing of large air-conditioning systems. They come complete with manifolds for connection to 4" hoses for ease of handling.

Downhole pumping for methane gas borehole development

We were required to provide a large flow of water to develop the bore. Two large multistage pumps were used in series to achieve a pressure of 1500 psi in the bore.

This high pressure and flow fractures the rock formation to allow the gas to flow.

The pump is to be used for experimental mining operations in South America.

Portable Firefighting pumpset for the Middle East

Our customer required 2 trailer mounted pumpsets delivered urgently to the Middle East. They could not find a source anywhere closer that could deliver on time. The pumps were air freighted to Kuwait for use in an oil refinery.

Custom built column Pump

Our customer in Hong Kong needed a replacement column pump to replace an existing installation. An exact pump could not be found and so we made up a column pump to their exact dimensions.

Triplex pump used in mine hydraulic fracturing

Detroit V16 powered triplex pump built for the mining industry with full operator canopy and instruments. This pumpset is used for fracturing coal seams in mining operations.

Providing a flood for the film "Noahs Ark"

The film "Noahs Ark" needed a great deal of water to simulate the flood. We pumped water in and out of a large filming tank at all hours of the day and night for days.

Treated Water Pumpset

This pump has to handle treated water which was incompatible with some bronze components in the pump we stocked. These components were remanufactured in stainless steel. The pumps internal surfaces were epoxy ceramic coated.

Pipeline filling pumpsets for Malaysia

A customer in Malaysia needed two pumpsets for pipeline filling duties in South East Asia. The pumps were Worthington 8 LN's powered by Detroit 16V71T all contained in a compact skid.

Firefighting Pumpset

We have just completed an offshore firefighting pumpset for a shipping company in Singapore. It is powered by a Detroit 8V92TA diesel fitted to a pump of our design capable of pumping 1200 tonnes of water per hour with a throw in excess of 100 metres. The set is fitted with a Skum monitor and water powered eductor system for priming the pump and suction hoses.For more details on Firepumps see "Firefighting pumpsets"

Nozzle Testing

Simple question - How much pressure do you need to drive water through a 17 mm hole at the rate of 16 litres per second. For a perfect nozzle, i.e. C=1, the answer is 2600 KPa. But what if the hole and the approach to it, is not only not perfect, but perhaps has a C value of .53, which is what the textbooks talk about for a "re-entrant nozzle"
